Mt. Baker Hill Climb

Great views, fresh air, tough climbs. Ascend 4,098 feet from Chair 9 in Glacier to Artist Point (5,140 feet elevation) in approximately 22 miles. The Mt. Baker Highway (SR542) is known as one of the most scenic paved roads in the country and rarely is the highway closed to motorized vehicles from Glacier to Artist Point. With steep elevation and several switchbacks, this ride is not for the faint of heart, but the views are stunning. Experience the agony and the ecstasy!

The race begins at MP 35, 1/4 mile east of the check-in at Chair 9 Pizza & Bar.

Tour de Whatcom

Enjoy all that the Northwest has to offer in one beautiful ride! Mt. Baker, Lake Whatcom, valleys, rivers, farmland, and beaches. With rides varying from 22 miles to 100, you’ll find a great ride for every member of the family. All proceeds benefit local charities, ride for a great cause!

Thank you Boundary Bay Brewery for hosting the post-ride party for the Tour de Whatcom. Each rider receives a token for a beverage (beer or non-alcoholic) along with their piece of free Tour de Whatcom swag. The Beer Garden is open for all ages until 5 pm.

We will have two raffle drawings with awesome prizes from local businesses. Meet other riders and share stories of your day!

Ski to Sea

Ski to Sea is the original multisport relay race, from Mt. Baker to Bellingham Bay. Organize your team of 3-8 racers and join us on Memorial Day weekend! Teammates and spectators await finishing racers in Bellingham’s scenic Marine Park and can experience the Historic Fairhaven Festival, the all-day street party just up the hill.

Returning racers tell us their favorite parts of Ski to Sea are camaraderie and community. From organizing your team to training, racing, and trading stories at the finish line beer garden, Ski to Sea is all about teamwork. It is also about our incredible community of over 800 volunteers who work together to make this event unforgettable, year after year, since 1973.

Global Fat Bike Day +1

In it’s 7th year, Global Fat Bike Day is just like it sounds, a day to celebrate and ride fat bikes. Technically, Saturday (12/7) is the day, but hey, many of us work on Saturdays, so we are declaring the whole weekend a Fat Bike Holiday.

Here is the plan:

* Meet up at the Schweitzer Roundabout (across from the fire station).

* Group Fat Bike Rides will leave parking lot at 12:30pm. We will ensure that the trails from the roundabout are groomed and ready for the day (weather depending of course). Take a intermediate and more advanced ride options available. There will be something for everyone. Maps will be provided.

* Need a fat bike for the group ride? Call Greasy Fingers ahead and reserve one of our rentals for $25 for the afternoon (available for pickup Saturday afternoon from the shop for $45 or Sunday starting at 12pm for $25).

* Do one or more rides, it’s up to you. The Greasy Fingers crew will have warm drinks and something on the bbq to warm your insides and a fire to warm your outsides.

8 Lakes Leg Aches bike ride

Presented by LCS Northwest and Kaiser Permanente. Join us for one of the best-organized rides in Eastern Washington! 8 Lakes Bike Ride explores the beautiful scenery surrounding Spokane, West Plains, Medical Lake, and Cheney. Three routes to choose from; 30, 45, and 75-mile. Routes are clearly marked and include food stops, medical and mechanical support. Ride only $50. Pledge riders raising $200 receive an 8 Lakes designer jersey, t-shirt, and socks. Enjoy David’s Pizza, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, and Roast House iced/hot coffee at the finish.

Pedaling for a purpose

Proceeds benefit the programs of Lutheran Community Services Northwest. For more than 60 years, LCS Northwest has been offering hope, resources, and healing to thousands of Spokane-area citizens affected by violent crimes and other traumatic, life-altering events.
